How sources are identified

Primary-source entries preserve the source text. Editorial readings identify their evidence in the page references. Technical claims use a fixed Git commit whenever the claim depends on source code: the commit, file, and—where useful—line range identify the exact snapshot being discussed. A fixed commit does not move when a branch is updated.

The English and Japanese editions are parallel presentations. Their source URL sets are kept aligned, so either language can be cited for the same evidence.

Editorial readings, their translations, and the figures made for them are published under CC BY 4.0: quoting, translating, and adapting them is allowed with attribution. That grant covers Bitcoin Institute's own writing and figures; quoted third-party material inside a page stays under its own rights. Preserved primary sources are reproduced for research and are not licensed here; reuse of a primary source follows the terms that apply to that source.
