Re: Bitcoin - Agreement to develop website and FAQ

Two envelope icons linked by a dotted reply line, one marked with a padlock and the other with a star badge, alongside a small always-on device icon and a stack of FAQ pages.

Malmi replied to Satoshi agreeing to take on the website and FAQ development. In this email, he also proposed a feature idea: a UI tool for creating password-protected private keys with backup capabilities. He reported that he was already actively running a Bitcoin node 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Later that same day, Satoshi responded by granting Malmi developer access to the Bitcoin SourceForge project. Satoshi endorsed the private key encryption feature as “absolutely essential” for future security — an idea he had already floated, as a future feature, to Dustin Trammell four months earlier. He also provided Malmi with an extensive compilation of Q&A material addressing common inquiries about blockchain mechanics, transaction confirmation times, the 21-million coin limit, and scaling.
