A New Currency System for the World
Hello there,
Today I wrote an article encapsulating my idea for a new currency system of the world. One that is based on real value, open banking and technology.
After publishing it, someone pointed out to me that there is in fact already a “prototype” of my idea in existence. And they shared the link to Bitcoin.
To my pleasant surprise, the Bitcoin project is indeed a viable new world currency system based on the same principals I proposed in the article.
So I guess I just wanted to congratulate the developers on bringing your vision of Bitcoin to life - and that I’m excited to get involved in the project however I can.
Another crazy paulite here… 😁
I am using this thread to introduce myself, since I have started using bitcoin because of this article link in RonPaulForums.org . I knew bitcoin from before and I though it was a interesting project it seemed too young at the moment. But after speaking with dwdollar over there, I decided to give it a try.
Bitcoin is running now in the linux server of my home (and it should be generating coins, I just dont know how long does it take to generate one). Its running on a atom 330 with 1gig RAM and not the processor nor the memory is going out of hand, but I have a problem. I connect to my server using a VNC connection. When I run bitcoin it becomes very sluggish, almost unusable. When I stop bitcoin everything goes ok again. Its running Ubuntu desktop 10.04 amd64 using ia32libs and the binary in bitcoin 0.20 tarball.
You’ll want to renice +20 bitcoin then. I wouldn’t dream of sharing a bitcoin in generation mode on a box that was playing videos. Choppy videos annoy the hell outta me.
😛

0.3.1 fixes that, sets the generate threads to the lowest priority. Download links are on the homepage now.
